High Precision Soda Lime Glass Balls

High Precision Soda-lime Glass Balls

Soda-lime glass has a high density and hardness, with a material density of 2.4 – 2.6 g/cm³ and a hardness of 5.5 – 6.5 Mohs (not suitable for highly abrasive environments). It is suitable for use in bearings and various mechanical applications. With excellent heat resistance and chemical stability, soda-lime glass can withstand high temperatures and corrosive environments.

GELINDE’s soda-lime glass balls find applications in bearing balls, laboratory instrument calibration and analysis, medical drug delivery, and surgical instruments. The common applications include fluid control and distribution, grinding and mixing, and filling media.

FAQ About Soda-lime Glass Balls

Precision soda lime glass balls are manufactured to stricter tolerances, ensuring greater accuracy in dimensions and surface finish compared to standard glass balls. This enhanced precision makes them suitable for critical applications where consistent performance and low friction are essential, such as in high-speed bearings and precision measuring devices.

Precision soda lime glass balls offer several advantages, including excellent dimensional stability, high resistance to wear and chemical corrosion, and low friction. These properties make them well-suited for use in demanding industrial environments where reliability and accuracy are crucial.

Precision soda lime glass balls perform well in stable environments but may have limitations in extreme conditions, such as high temperatures or highly corrosive environments. For applications requiring high thermal resistance or exposure to aggressive chemicals, alternative materials like borosilicate or quartz glass might be more suitable.
