High Precision Borosilicate Glass Balls

High Precision Borosilicate Glass Balls

Borosilicate glass boasts high physical strength, durability, and corrosion resistance. Its material density is about 2.2 g/cm³, hardness is 6 – 7 Moh’s hardness, coefficient of thermal expansion is about 3.3×10-⁶/K, and strong resistance to thermal shock. It can be stabilized for a long time in a variety of chemical media, high temperature resistance: able to withstand high-temperature environments without being easily deformed or ruptured.

GELINDE’s borosilicate glass balls are widely used in optical, chemical, medical instrument, and laboratory applications.
The common applications include industrial &laboratory, medical & pharmaceutical, and food & beverage.

FAQ About Borosilicate Glass Balls

Precision borosilicate glass balls typically have tight tolerances, often ranging from ±0.005mm to ±0.02mm depending on the application and size. These tolerances ensure high accuracy and consistent performance in applications requiring precise dimensional control.

Borosilicate glass balls are highly resistant to thermal shock due to their low thermal expansion coefficient (around 3.3 x 10⁻⁶/°C). They also offer excellent chemical durability, resisting most acids, alkalis, and solvents, making them suitable for harsh environments where precision and longevity are critical.

Precision borosilicate glass balls are commonly used in optical devices, medical instrumentation, and high-temperature environments. Their high precision and resistance to chemical corrosion and thermal variation make them ideal for demanding applications like flow meters, precision bearings, and measurement instruments.
