Cleanliness Control Solution: Creating Value for Customer

A domestic lens manufacturing and assembly company faced challenges with a product having a qualification rate of around 70%, leading to frequent customer complaints. The primary issue stemmed from the slightly subpar quality of the spherical preform used for molding, exhibiting surface scratches (processing issues) and dirt spots (cleaning problems). Although incoming materials underwent inspection, detecting these defects on the surface of the spheres proved challenging. However, these issues often manifested after molding, resulting in low production efficiency, high manufacturing costs, and increased customer complaints.
Upon engaging with GELINDE, we conducted an analysis of the physical and chemical characteristics of this material. Our technical department organized discussions to identify the most suitable production and cleaning processes. Through iterative testing, multiple refinements were made based on actual polishing conditions, ultimately achieving a qualification rate that satisfied the customer. Currently, this customer is engaged in close collaboration with our company.
